There is no useful single automation price for every 3 BHK. Two homes with the same bedroom count may have different lighting groups, curtains, air-conditioning interfaces and control preferences. A clear room-by-room scope is a better starting point than a headline package price.
Ask for quantities and functions: list the rooms, controlled circuits, devices, keypads and scenes. Then separate hardware, installation, programming, taxes and ongoing support. AHL provides project-specific proposals; this guide does not publish unverified per-room or per-BHK package prices.
Define the unit you are comparing
“One room automated” might mean one lighting circuit, several dimming groups, a curtain motor or an integrated routine involving multiple devices. Before comparing prices, ask each supplier to describe the same functions. Count the control points and the work, not just the room names.
A bill of quantities should identify selected models and quantities, but it should also describe installation and setup. If the quotation uses a bundled line, request a scope breakdown so you can see what is actually included.

Build a room-by-room schedule
| Room | Functions to list | Dependencies to check |
|---|---|---|
| Living and dining | Light groups, dimming, curtains and useful scenes | Fixture/driver compatibility, switchboard space and motor provision |
| Bedrooms | Bedside controls, selected lights and curtains | Familiar physical operation and furniture locations |
| Kitchen and utility | Clearly identified lighting or appliance controls | Suitable load ratings and safe installation by qualified professionals |
| Shared circulation | Entry, stair and night-time routines where needed | Local controls, agreed sensor behaviour and manual fallback |
Separate equipment from project work
Identify controllers, interfaces, touch panels, keypads, motors and any required network components. Ask whether fixtures, drivers and curtain tracks are supplied by AHL or by another contractor. An interface for an existing device is not the same purchase as a replacement device.
Next, identify installation labour, testing, scene programming, training and reinstatement of finishes. A finished apartment may need a different access plan from a home under construction. Mark any items that remain provisional until a site survey.
Compare a simple phase with the complete plan
If the whole-home proposal is more than you want to spend, prioritise the routines used every day. A first phase might cover selected living-room lights and curtains, provided the survey confirms suitability. This is a planning example, not a package or a claim that every flat can use the same components.
Ask what the next phase would need. Confirm available capacity, compatible devices and any infrastructure best prepared now. “Expandable” should have a practical explanation, not just appear as a feature in a brochure.

Account for control preferences
A family may prefer existing switches, touch panels or a few labelled scene controls. Ask to use the actual interfaces during a demonstration. Compare function and usability before choosing finishes or assuming the most expensive panel makes the whole system better.
Record which functions continue during an internet outage and what happens if a phone is unavailable. Agree account ownership, access permissions and the handover process. These operational decisions are part of the value of the installation.
Clarify support before signing
Product warranty, installation workmanship, visits and future programming can have separate terms. Ask which changes are included in commissioning and which would become chargeable later. Request written information about travel, labour and the service contact rather than assuming unlimited support.
When comparing proposals, make a short list of missing answers and send the same questions to each supplier. A quotation that is slightly longer but defines responsibilities may be easier to manage than a low headline figure with open-ended exclusions.
A useful consultation brief
Share your Pune location, property type, construction stage, rooms, priority routines and comfortable budget. Include a floor plan and photographs if available. You do not need to select every device before the first discussion.
Visit the SmartNode Experience Center in Pune to try the controls. If lighting fixtures are also changing, involve the lighting planning team before buying fittings independently.
