A home theatre budget is useful only when it describes what you will receive. Speakers and an amplifier are one part of the decision; the display, installation, room works and handover can change the complete project substantially. Start with the room you want to use, then compare quotations for the same outcome.
The short answer: AHL’s consultation form offers investment bands of ₹3–6 lakh, ₹7–10 lakh, ₹10–20 lakh and ₹20 lakh or above, plus an option to discuss the budget. These are ways to describe your brief, not fixed packages or market-average prices. The written proposal establishes the actual equipment, work, taxes and exclusions.
Why a 3 BHK does not have one home theatre price
A cinema system normally serves a particular room, not every bedroom in an apartment. A compact enclosed room and an open living–dining space in two similar 3 BHK flats can need different layouts. Bedroom count also says little about the screen, speaker positions or access for wiring.
For a 1, 2, 3 or 4 BHK, mark the intended cinema space on the plan. Record the room length, width, ceiling height, main seat, windows and adjoining rooms. Put whole-home automation and multiroom audio in separate quotation sections so they do not become hidden additions to a cinema budget.

Build a quotation that can be compared
| Scope | What to identify | Question to ask |
|---|---|---|
| Picture | TV or projector, screen, mount and signal route | Is the display included or are we retaining an existing one? |
| Sound | Speaker models, quantities, subwoofers and amplification | Does the proposal show the agreed channel layout? |
| Installation | Cables, termination, mounting and labour | Which routes and access work are assumed? |
| Room works | Treatment, isolation, ceilings, joinery and seating | Which items sit with the interior contractor? |
| Controls | Remotes, interfaces, network and scene programming | Which everyday functions will be demonstrated? |
| Completion | Testing, calibration, training, taxes and support | What is included, excluded or charged separately? |
For every line, request a quantity, model or defined task rather than a vague allowance. If an item is provisional, ask when it will be finalised. A lower total is not necessarily poor value, but it is not comparable until you know what has been left out.
Use your investment range to set priorities
Discuss which result matters most: clear dialogue, music listening, a larger picture, a discreet interior or a dedicated cinema atmosphere. Ask the designer to show what changes when the scope is simplified. Do not assume that moving into a higher budget band requires adding more speakers.
If the budget is ₹6–7 lakh or between the displayed ranges, choose “Discuss with AHL” and enter the actual range in the message. A form band is not a minimum purchase commitment. If you need only a product, check the relevant listing on AudioGuru; product pricing should not be mistaken for a complete installed-room price.
Three different briefs—not three advertised packages
A living room retaining its television
Begin with the exact TV and source-device models, seating and acceptable cable routes. A music-led stereo system or a restrained surround layout may be more useful than a complex installation that conflicts with daily living. Ask which existing equipment can be retained without compromising the agreed result.
An apartment being renovated
Coordinate speaker positions, equipment ventilation and cable access while the interior drawings can change. Budget for the necessary work once, with responsibilities agreed between AHL, the electrician and interior contractor. Keep decorative decisions separate from technical requirements when comparing alternatives.
A dedicated cinema room
Include room construction, cooling coordination, seating, light control and service access in the discussion. Acoustic treatment and sound isolation are different scopes. Ask for the complete cost to reach a usable room, including items supplied by other contractors.

Where a simpler system can save sensibly
Retaining a compatible display, choosing fewer well-positioned channels and postponing nonessential rooms are legitimate options. Reserve practical wiring routes for a later phase when appropriate. Avoid paying for a nominally expandable system without documenting its actual spare capacity and supported upgrade path.
Do not save by leaving responsibility for installation, electrical work or commissioning undefined. Clarify who will identify and resolve a fault that crosses equipment and installation boundaries. Ask about workmanship, travel and site visits separately from the manufacturer’s product warranty.
What to send for a useful quotation
- Your Pune project location and whether it is a new build, renovation or finished home.
- A measured floor plan or photographs with approximate dimensions.
- Existing TV, source and speaker details, if any.
- Regular viewers, music/film priorities and limitations on visible equipment.
- A comfortable investment range and desired installation milestone.
Read the home theatre planning answers or arrange a Focal demonstration before deciding which equipment belongs in the proposal.
